She has decided we need a side X side. After looking around the net last night I asked how much she was paying for the new toy. She said $8,000.00,and I asked who was going to get this 8 grand thing running? 14-16 thousand looks more realistic. We lived in a house for three years that we paid 5,00.00 for.

My neighbor got a new Kubota, after waiting a year on it, for about $26,000. I made him a new bed for it that actually could make it useful.

I've thought about getting one but new ones are just ridiculously expensive and there are NO used ones anywhere. Also, based on my experience with motorcycles and such things, it takes a LOT of specialty tools and if parts are needed, it is a guessing game as to just which parts might be needed depending on when the thing was built.

You can get a pretty good small pickup, four door. Cut the AC hose, pull all four doors, take out the back window and the heater. Same thing and a lot cheaper. I guess there are no bragging rights over the neighbor other than saving a pile of money.I know I am not too sharp but I do not get it.If the 20=30,000 figure is right I really din.t get it.Not restricted to this either. Here people are in love with the 1 ton crew cab dually. $80,000.00 plus I am sure. Not hitch in the bed, not a scuff or scratch in the bed Can't find a parking spot at the office park. It is thought to be a status symbol but is truly a symbol of their stupidity.I see so much of this it's hard to imagine this kind of wanton waste of resources. Not jealous I could make out a check if I wanted to. 06 MGC 1500, paid for in 09. $15,000.00 50,00 miles works for me. I know people who have traded 4 maybe 5 times since then. Can not imagine what the payments have cost them over the years. And some not all complain they don't make enough and are always broke. They may never know it's not what you make it's what you spend. Get what makes her happy, it's cheaper in the long run.

Toys like that can have residual costs. My wife used a cub cadet and little trailer to do her yard work, but with a bum knee it was getting tough for her to get on and off of the cub cadet. Being the good husband that I was:) I bought her a Kubota rtv, I know it isn't a side by side but it worked good for her yard work etc. It was the small one, it will fit in the back of a standard size pick up. Any way she drove it around the yard after I unloaded it, then parked in in the garage, came out with a big smile and asked me where I was going to park my pickup from now on.---------I ended up adding to my shop building-------you can figure out the rest of the story------ sometimes there are residual costs in purchases that show up later

WE went down to the local box store to look and drive one around the lot tonight. WE were told we could not drive one,we would have to buy it first. Yep I am going to write a check for a made in china thing before I drive it around the lot. I really do not think I look that stupid Had supper at Taco Bell and came home. We will stop at the local Honda, long time dealer, Saturday. My boss bought a made in south k one 3 years ago from them, and he loves it.

We tried out a Roxor, the Mahindra version of a Jeep. I honestly liked it, and if it was liscense able, and I wasn’t so cheap, I would probably be looking for one. It has a 4 cylinder Diesel engine, 5 speed transmission, but NO 2 speed transfer case. It is a bit more difficult for us oldsters to get in, but is big enough to do some serious work. When we looked at them they started out in the $14,000 range, options were all dealer installed and you could go nutz with cab, ac, tracks, locking differentials. You could run the price up dang near $40,000.

Can you'all imagine how big the chunk of hide would be that SHE'd kick off my butt if I even thought about acquiring one more piece of rolling stock. I'll it stick with the JD 40. 👴👴

I found one today,8,500.00 it has been worked but was not beat up. The salesman said he found it yesterday,he thought it was for the shop, but it was a trade in. I am going to try a different dealer Saturday. New ones are 17,900,a real nice 6 seater 2021,but I only have 40 acres, and I am not sure that is enough to turn that thing around.
