Stuff was going high, today, didn't get much... Stevensville, MD, the estate was the last remnants of a local waterman/boat rig maker, quite a local character... Lots of clueless locals with more dollars than sense. As I pulled into a friend of a friend's parking lot, about 750 feet away from the auction site at 7, I noticed the DF tire on the ranger was looking low. Did I mention that it was rainin? anyway figgered I'd worry about that later. 11 am I slog back to the truck with an armfulla sander belts, tire is down 1/2 way, Crap! 11:20 I lug the 65 lb sander/grinder back to the truck, hadda stop 3 times, for breathers! Alley ooped it over the tailgate, into the 1" puddle that was the truck liner, felt my balls to see if they were still there, checked tire, found drywall screw, tightened it a little, ate a granola bar, slogged back, sat by the woodstove for a while, to dry out and rest. Checked progress of the auctioneer about every 15 mins, then back to the woodstove, finally got to 2 more boxes of sandpaper, paid and slogged through the now lessening rain to the truck with a tire about an inch off the ground. deposited sandpaper in the PS of the ranger, dug down real deep through the debris, found the little portable chin-lee air compressor I had bought at an auction in a box lot several auctions ago, and new I had, but had never used. Plugged it in and in 15 minnits, had enough air in the tire to make it to the closest gas station, where I deposited 6 quarters in the machine, and got to 50 lbs in the allotted 3 minnits for the 22 mile trek home... got home at 1:45. ever grateful to a loving God who looks out for fools such as I...
